Bathing beach beauty

We travelled to Forster for a short holiday. The weather was overcast and there was no one at this beach but us. It was the perfect time for taking photos . I remember today being one of those very special days that we could just 'BE' a family with no interruptions. It makes me watch our children and realise that enjoying your childhood is so magical and wish I knew then what in know now about life and its importance.

I have used paper- ledger by kaiser craft. The scraps of paper are mostly from KC also.

I used the big shot to create a range of varying sized circles. I stencilled the background with brown vintage and teal ink. Most elements are raised with 3d dots. The little black butterfly is made from 2 photo corners, I fussy cut them into wings.

To make the tag holder I used a tag which I stamped and tied together with twine, then used the wire from the KC flowers to attach a curly vine to the tag.

One of my favourite pics

Tonight I sat up while my children are yelling at the football on television. It's time for some me time.  I have been blog surfing and have tried some different techniques in this layout. The photo has a vintage filter on it so I have tried to blend in the papers and embellishments.
I see my daughter's youthfulness in this photo her smile and eye make me happy.

I have used a pale green card and a selection of kaiser craft papers. I stencilled this with chicken wire pattern then sprayed it with dylusions spray mist. I have used clear glaze to randomly cover chicken wire stencil pattern. I have used a tag punch because of the resemblance it hand to the hexagon chicken wire pattern. The butterfly is a stamp I cut out and mounted. I have distressed stained the background as well as using a brown felt tip marker.

Our precious 4 .....

I often think to myself, WOW life has dealt me a lot of beautiful gifts and here are my most precious 4. They are not unlike others their age but they all have their special qualities to bestow on our family. It's always a house full of , laughter, tears, screams and the odd football flying passed ones head.
What would I be doing without them???? I am pretty sure my heart wouldn't be as full as it is.

My theme in this layout was to use circles and stars to create a boyish feel to this page. I included a feather because I tell our children feathers are our floating guardians angels , that why i have included one in this layout.

My beautiful mum.......

My first blog layout I must dedicate to my mum. I began this layout thinking about what I would've been without mum. I believe we all are sent special people into our lives to help guide. Here is my angel.

This page is made up of a lot of scrap I had lying around.  I love being able to put odds and ends together with what I have. The colour combination of the embellishments and papers are meant to bring out the tones in the photo.

Welcome to my blog.......

Today I enter the world of blogging to share my experiences and loves with the world.

I have to confess I am a little obsessed over scrapbooking you can just ask everyone I know. My name is Melanie Parnell and if there was 'scrapbookers anonymous' I definitely should be joining.
My main hobby is scrapbooking. I have a love for it like nothing else in my life because creating on paper lets me savour the moments that pop up in my little journey called life.

I am a wife to a supportive husband, a mum to four young children three boys 9,7,6 and a little girl who is nearly 5. I work part time outside the home, I work full time inside the home and the rest of the time I forgo my sleep for scrapbooking.

My scrapbooking traditions could involve a playlist of my favourite tunes, a cup of camomile tea and a large square table covered with everything scrapbooking. Time seems to slow when I scrapbook and I could even be known to be awake in the early hours of the morning finishing off my creations.

Whether I leave home to scrapbook with friends, get creative at a store or on my very own kitchen table I know one thing I am creating memories for those I adore, what more could I want?

This blog will be dedicated to sharing my creations on paper with you. Please leave comments and ask questions I would be only happy to reply.

Thank you for dropping by.....Melly
